The Anti-Voter Apathy Project AVAP has expressed concern over the low voter turnout in the Katuba Parliamentary by-election.
AVAP Executive Director Richwell Mulwani says the 16, 064 votes in the elections are nowhere near the 43,806 registered voters in the constituency.
Speaking in an interview with Christian Voice News in Lusaka today, Mr. Mulwani has appealed to the Electoral Commission of Zambia and other relevant stakeholders to engage citizens in comprehensive civic voter education countrywide to remind citizens on their importance in the electoral process.
Mr. Mulwani has however appealed to all political parties in the country to desist from importing carders at by elections.
He said the excessive presence of carders during elections discourages electorates to cast their votes.
