Government has revealed that it is currently importing 3 hundred megawatts of energy from South Africa at a total cost of 20.5 million United States in an effort to cushion the prevailing load shedding hours from 8- 6 hours.

Speaking to Journalists in Lusaka today, Energy Minister Matthew Nkhuwa further said that in an effort to sustain the importation of energy, the cost implications of the importation of power will be inflicted on the consumers.

He further disclosed that government is in talks with the government of Mozambique in an effort to expand the energy efficiency in the country.
