The Human Rights Commission has urged political parties to refrain from intimidating and bribing voters in the run up to the August 12, General elections.

Human Rights Commission Spokesperson Mwelwa Muleya says voters should be allowed to exercise their rights by freely taking part in the electoral process without intimidation from political parties.

Speaking in an interview with Christian voice news in Lusaka today, Mr. Muleya has therefore appealed to political parties to respect the will of the electorates even as the campaign period approaches.

And Mr. Muleya has further urged the Electoral Commission of Zambia ECZ to follow with keen interest that political parties are observing the electoral code in the run up to the general elections.
