Kasama based Copperbelt University (CBU) students have joined their colleagues nationwide in demanding the re-opening of the learning institution to avoid further disruption of the academic calendar.

The students observed that the continued closure of the university will not only affect the academic calendar but also delay the time students will be completing their studies.

one of the CBU students, Tambulai Chiwela  advised Ministry of Higher Education minister Professor Nkandu Luo to rescind her earlier decision to close down the country’s second biggest university.

Mr Chiwela in an interview win Kasama today has further called on government to help address the wrangles that exists between lecturers and management.

He said government should take the education sector as a priorities saying trained labour force is cardinal to national development.
