Minister of National Guidance and Religious Affairs Godfridah Sumaili has urged the church to pray for Gods peace to reign over the nation ahead of the 2021 general elections.

Reverend Sumaili said the church and all citizens must take advantage of the day of national prayer which falls on 18th October to pray for peaceful campaigns and elections during and after.

She said it takes everyone’s participation to ensure that there is no violence regardless of political affiliation.

The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
