The Milers Association of Zambia MAZ has downplayed assertions that the continued export of mealie meal by millers will trigger a price rise in the commodity on the local market.

MAZ President Andrew Chintala says the prices of Mealie Meal have remained stable since the country started exporting the commodity two weeks ago.

Speaking in an interview with Christian voice news in Lusaka today, Mr. Chintala underscored the need for millers to continue exporting the commodity for them to effectively participate in the next maize buying season.

And Mr. Chintala has disclosed that the prices of Mealie Meal are further expected to reduce as the 2021- 2022 farming season approaches.
