Transparency International Zambia Executive Director Wesley Chibamba has appealed to Cabinet ministers to abide by the constitutional courts verdict of paying back the money they earned when they illegally occupied office in 2016.

Mr. Chibamba says the constitution court was clear that all cabinet ministers that stayed illegally in office after parliament was dissolved in 2016 to pay back the money adding that it is worrying that some ministers have publicly refused to follow the court’s ruling.

Mr. Chibamaba has told Christian voice news that cabinet ministers must lead by example in obeying the rule of law by paying back all the emoluments to the state.

He further said that those funds can go a long way in alleviating the problems that that Zambians are currently facing.
