National AIDS Council NAC says the supplied defective condoms as unearthed under the Honeybee scandal, undermines Zambia’s response to HIV/AIDS.
NAC Communications Manager Justine Mwiinga notes that the people that accessed the defective condoms were as good as engaging in unprotected sex, thereby exposing themselves to unplanned pregnancies, HIV, as well as STIs.
Speaking in an interview with Christian Voice News in Lusaka today, Mr. Mwiinga however said the extent of the damage caused in terms of new HIV infections is yet to be determined.
He said NAC is as outraged as many Zambians are, over the supply of the defective condoms.
