Zambia has not recorded any new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24hrs, while two of the initial cases have been discharged from the isolation center after they successfully recovered from Coronavirus.

Minister of Health Chitalu Chilufya says 5622 people that traveled from high risk countries remain quarantined, waiting for a 14-day set period to pass.

Speaking at a press briefing in Lusaka today, Dr. Chilufya advised Zambians to avoid unnecessary movements and continue following the set hygiene guidelines to limit the local transmission of the disease.

He however said importation of essential items continue as fuel and medicine are being transported into Lusaka, with heightened efficient screening methods being enforced to avoid importing new cases of Covid-19.

Meanwhile, Dr. Chilufya said all the medical personal that will be recruited as per directive by President Edgar Lungu will be on permanent basis.

And Dr. Chilufya has praised the church for responding well to all the directive to combat the Covid19.

He also directed the Zambia Golf Union to cease all their activities with immediate effect.

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.
