The Center for Trade Policy and Development CTPD has appealed to government through the Head of State President Edgar Chagwa Lungu to urgently consider reopening CBU without any further delays.
CTPD Executive director Isaac Mwaipopo says it is disheartening to note that Copperbelt University has been closed for close to three months now.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mwaipopo says it has now become a common phenomenon to learn that lecturers and other workers at Copperbelt University CBU and University of Zambia UNZA get paid very late.
He has further said that this situation has hindered academic progress and research on the part of the lecturers which in extreme circumstances has led to the disruption of learning.
Mr. Mwaipopo has urged government to find better ways of resolving issues rather than resorting to disrupting the University calendar..

But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children— with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts.
