Opposition Patriotic Front Presidential aspirant and Former Ambassador to Ethiopia Emmanuel Mwamba has urged the new dawn government to consider reopening the Kasenseli Gold mine in north western province.

Mr. Mwamba says the country is seating on a gold mine that can quickly change the economic status of the country if well managed.

Speaking when he featured on radio Christian voice’s Chat Back Program in Lusaka today, Mr Mwamba said that the continued closure of the Gold mine will attract illegal miners that will steal the country’s precious resource.

He has further urged government to address all pending issues in the mining sector such as taxation and mine ownership for Zambians to maximize the potential of the mining sector.
