President Hakainde Hichilema has visited the Kariba North Bank Power Station to appreciate the power generation challenges the Plant is experiencing owing to the low water levels at the Kariba North Bank Power Station.

The President has learnt with concern that the Power Plant is currently operating with 0.21 metres of water as opposed to the required operational water level of 13 metres high.

The President has since directed Zambezi River Authority to utilise the existing technologies to provide accurate and timely data on the intake of water levels into lake Kariba to help ZESCO plan its power generation at the Kariba North Bank Power Station.
