Calm has been restored at Butimbwe Primary School in Milenge district after pupils absconded classes due to a reported witchcraft scare at the school.

Milenge District Education Board Secretary Lameck Lungo disclosed that in the past months pupils shunned classes due to alleged witchcraft scare, but that the situation has normalized.

Mr. Lungo however revealed that on Tuesday, pupils boycotted classes for a day due to the alleged rampant witchcraft attacks among pupils at the school.

And Sokontwe Ward Councilor Jerricks Kalebwe has urged the pupils to be prayerful and avoid any form of distractions if they are to get educated.

Mr. Kalebwe observed that the attacks some pupils faced in their dreams were aimed at making them lose concentration at school.
