GEARS Initiative Zambia Executive Director MacDonald Chipenzi says Zambia’s latest ranking of 117 in the latest Corruption perception Index CPI will worsen the country’s poverty levels.

Mr. Chipenzi says the latest CPI shows that Zambia is still struggling to eliminate corruption, a situation he said will negatively affect the vulnerable and marginalized in society.

Speaking when he featured on radio Christian voice program chat back in Lusaka today, Mr. Chipenzi said that the rampant corruption in the country entails that people living in poverty cannot access social services equitably owing to their weak financial muscle.

Mr. Chipenzi has therefore called on government to show willingness to end corruption in the country by ensuring that all matters of corruption are dealt with without fear or favor.

If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.
