Tobacco Free Association of Zambia is saddened by the failure of the Ministry of Health to process the tobacco control bill for over 10 years.

Association Executive Director Brenda Chitindi says the Tobacco Control bill is an effective policy intervention that most countries around the world have adopted to reduce the demand for tobacco products and protect their citizens from premature deaths, diseases and economic costs.

Mrs. Chitindi has told Christian Voice news that Zambia has struggled to domesticate the World Health Organizations Framework Convention on Tobacco Control aimed at helping the population from unsafe tobacco products.

She further added that there is need for widespread of tobacco cessation programs to help tobacco users to quit smoking.
