The National Alcohol Policy Taken Too Long To Be Implemented

The Independent Churches of Zambia ICOZ says it is deeply disappointed that government has dragged the implementation of the National Alcohol Policy.

ICOZ Board Chairperson David Masupa says the absence of a National Alcohol Policy in the country is one of the major reasons the youth are abusing alcohol.

Bishop Masupa said that the policy has taken too long to be implemented, a situation he said is leading to alcohol abuse among the young people in the country.

He also said that abuse of alcohol is affecting the country’s social development agenda, and he urged government to quicken the process involved in the implementation the policy.
