Minister of Finance and National Planning Situmbeko Musokotwane has maintained that the recently released figures on Revenue collection by the Zambia Revenue Authority ZRA for the first quarter of the year are legitimate.

Dr. Musokotwane says the authority collected K48.3 billion in the first Quarter of the year more than the K46 billion it had estimated.

Speaking when he gave a ministerial statement in Parliament this morning, Dr. Musokotwane said the collection of revenue across the country is an activity that is constantly monitored by the ministry of finance and national planning.

He said that the figures from ZRA and the ministry have since coincided adding that sections of society should be happy that the authority is exceeding its targets on tax collections.
