Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary for Technical services Kennedy Malama has Urged Zambians to reduce the intake of salt in food substances.

Dr. Malama says Salt is one of the major causes of non communicable diseases that leads to death.

He says the tendency by Zambians of adding more salt before tasting food should be discouraged.

Dr. Malama has further revealed that Zambians are taking in 7.5 grams of salt against the recommenced 5 grams.
He has further Urged Zambians to also reduce the intake of alcohol, tobacco adding that they pose a great threat to their health.
