The Uganda FA on Wednesday announced that their 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier against Guinea will be played under floodlights on September 10.
Moses Magogo, the FA President said during a press conference in Kampala that the mid-week game will be played later at night to give spectators time to attend the match after work.
“We do not want our fans to miss this game and therefore we shall have the game played under floodlights at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.”
Uganda Cranes will play their first Group E match away to Ghana on September 5 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi. The Cranes ejected Madagascar and Mauritania to qualify for the Group stage of the qualifiers.
The FA’s Finance Director, Decolas Kiiza also told football loving Ugandans that there will be a discounted ticket that will enable someone watch all the three home games for the Cranes in the qualifiers.
“We call upon fans to come in big numbers to support this campaign,” added Kiiza.
Besides the senior team, Uganda also has the U-17 team in the last phase of the 2015 Africa Youth Championship qualifiers where they face Zambia.
