The Water Resource Management Authority WARMA has announced that the Authority has so far registered over 30,000 boreholes across the country.
WARMA Acting Authority Secretary Emmanuel Mumba says the Authority has so far pocketed over 7 million kwacha from the exercise.
Speaking during a press briefing in Lusaka today, Mr. Mumba also disclosed that the authority in the last two weeks prosecuted Aquopro consulting limited in Senenga District for drilling a Borehole without the Authority’s permit and Kampoko Resource limited in Kasama District for constructing a dam without the authorities permit.
Mr. Mumba has however urged Zambians to make sure that they register their boreholes before the deadline on December 31, 2019.
He has also urged Zambians to utilize the mobile payment systems on their phones to register their Boreholes in areas where they cannot physically access Warma pay points across the country.
