The Golden Party of Zambia GPZ has urged Government to withdraw the cyber security and cybercrimes bill from Parliament adding that the bill infringes on the fundamental human rights enshrined in the Republican Constitution.

GPZ President Jackson Silavwe says the bill is extremely punitive and lacks a human face calling for more consultation with the Zambian people on the bill.

Mr. Silavwe has told Christian voice news that there is need to harmonise the cyber security and cybercrimes bill with other pieces of legislation to avoid duplication of laws.

He has therefore said that the bill should not be rushed into law without conclusively consulting with the Zambian people on how the bill will be beneficial to them.
