Zambia qualify to 2015 CAF U20 Cup

Zambia Under-20 beat Malawi 1-0 at home in Lusaka  on Saturday to qualify for the 2015 African Youth Championships.

Midfielder Larry Bwalya’s lone goal sent Zambia through to next March finals in Dakar and see Young Chipolopolo qualify to the tournament for the first time since 2007.

Zambia qualified to the finals 3-1 on aggregate to wrap-up up the race to Dakar with a one hundred percent home and away record.

Meanwhile, the two sides went scoreless into the break at Nkoloma Stadium but Zambia did have the ball in the back of the net in the 24th minute through a disallowed goal from Charles Zulu.

Zulu however turned provider for Bwalya in the 53rd minute to ensure Zambia’s ticket to the finals.

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
